- Keep the passage to minimal length but filled with the meaning you desire
- Do not limit yourself to passages that specifically relate to one topic...find some passages that have and important meaning to you
- Your clergy may allow modification of certain passages
- Try to choose a passage that will be easy for the reader to read (if someone else is doing it besides the clergy)
- Let the reader practice the passage before the wedding day
